Quick Hitter: Reconciling the Missed Week, Cardinals and Rams News Confirmed, Full Roadmap Unchanged

View Blog

Quick housekeeping note up top: last week’s cadence had a gap, so this post covers what changed both since our last full update and in the last few days, and folds in a couple of real camp moves worth knowing about before we lock anything in for real.

What’s Actually Changed

  • Arizona released Kyler Murray; Jacoby Brissett is starting under a restructured deal. Arizona was already our model’s weakest team by a clear margin — this reinforces it as one of the most reliable opponents on the board all season.
  • The Rams traded for Myles Garrett, adding a genuine difference-maker to a defense on a roster that was already our top-rated team. That’s another reason the Rams stay parked until Weeks 12+ in the plan below rather than getting spent early.
  • The Eagles extended DT Jalen Carter — a stabilizing move for a team already graded upper-tier.
  • Tampa Bay’s Baker Mayfield still doesn’t have a new deal — worth watching, not yet worth reacting to.

None of this flips the board. Nothing changes about our Week 1-3 picks. The season’s strongest teams by our model (Rams, Seahawks, Bills, Ravens, Lions) and weakest (Cardinals, Dolphins, Jets, Raiders, Browns, Titans) are the same names as before — just with more confirmation behind them now.

The Full 18-Week Roadmap

Same format as always: all three entries, all 18 weeks, double-pick weeks highlighted, with modeled cumulative survival odds per entry in the last column (illustrative, not predictive — team strength this far out is a preseason estimate, not real lines).

As always: treat Weeks 1-3 as the most actionable picks. Everything past Week 4 is a sequencing plan — which team is earmarked for which slot — that gets rewritten as camp battles resolve and real lines post.

What’s Next

Back on the regular weekly cadence from here through Splash Sports‘ Big Splash kickoff on September 9 and the whole season after. If a week ever goes quiet again, that’s worth a nudge — it shouldn’t happen, but worth knowing it’s not a “no news” situation if it does.
