NFL Picks Week 5

Continue to be impressed by the Bills but they could be set up here in a trap. Arizona may be missing Boldin which is of concern and the Cardinals did show a lot of holes in back-to-back road games on the East coast.  But the line value here looks too good to pass up.

Arizona Cardinals -1

Defensive battle appears to be on tap here but the Titans have more balance and more weapons on offense.  Winning on the road is never easy but the Titans look like an elite team in the AFC right now.

San Diego took a while to wake up last week and face a long trip this week against a team with renewed confidence.  Neither teams stops the pass well and Miami has a nice controlled passing game.  This one stays close.

No line still on this game as of Friday afternoon.  It seems unlikely at this point that Rodgers will play at this point and that changes the line significantly when one comes out.  No play on this game.

Both teams come off their bye week and neither have been very impressive off their byes recently.  Seattle gets at least one WR back, possibly two and have found some rhythm with their ground attack.  Giants D has been tough, but not exactly tested with their early schedule.  Seahawks stay close enough so we predict taking the points the better pick.

Big key here will be the return of Westbrook, he is expected to play.  If we were certain he'd play and be 100% this would likely have been a TOP PICK but you never know with nagging injuries so we can't risk it.  The Eagles have been outstanding on D at home at will stop the run which makes Washington one dimensional and that's a bad formula.  Good value here as well with the Redskins early success.

Philadelphia Eagles -5.5

Broncos not stopping the pass or the run so look for the Buccs to have success on the ground but the Buccs D not overly impressive this season either and on the road.  Results last week again have us looking at line value and the pick is the Broncos at home.

Denver Broncos -3

As of Friday afternoon still not certain if Palmer will be ready to go, without Palmer the Bengals have very little chance here.  With Palmer they slightly more than very little chance.  Dallas is off a home loss and should be playing with something to prove and should prove it against the Bengals terrible defense.

Dallas Cowboys -16

The Pats are only a slightly above average team and the Niners might be the same.  But we prefer the experience of the Pats, the focus they should have after having an extra week to think about a loss to the Dolphins....Pats come up firing on all cylinders and although that's not as impressive as it was very recently it's better than the Niners.

New England Patriots -3

The Steelers have no running backs left and the line can't protect Big Ben. The Jags finding their way with the run game.  Low scoring game but we just don't see where the Steelers score enough to stay close.

Jacksonville Jaguars -4

Both teams looking to make a splash in the NFC this season this game is a big one and in fact could be a tie-breaker game in the playoff seeding picture late in the year.
