NFL Picks Week 3

Basketball PicksCollege Football PicksBaseball Picks

Each week we will post our free NFL picks right here. Most weeks we'll have our picks up by Thursday night. We can't win every game but we'll strive to provide as many winning predictions as we can each week. We've been providing honest handicapping service online since 1997 and we have customers that were with us that very first season and we are very proud of that and there is a very good reason for it. Quite simply, we are a high quality, honest sports handicapping service.
In addition to our free picks we offer our NFL Top Picks which we guarantee these picks will win or we'll give you free Top Picks until they do win - usually the very next week!

WEEK 2 MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL GUARANTEED or September FREE PICK WINS!

3 NFL TOP PICKS NOW POSTED!

The question we posed in week 2 of the NFL was how good, really, were the teams that had big wins in week 1, and how bad were the teams that got hammered? We learned a bit this week, let's take a look at the teams that raised the most questions in week 1 and what we thought about week 2 as well as a few new questions we ask now....

Week 1 teams that looked really good:
Buffalo Bills - Much tougher test in week 2 for the Bills but their D still looked good and they got a tough win in a tough spot. This team looks to be for real and better than expected this season. What will week 3 hold for them....our picks posted later this week!

Atlanta Falcons - Not a complete disaster with a big challenge at Tampa but a bit of a reality check for the Falcons in week 2 although Ryan made several very nice throws and they get KC at home in week 3 so they could be a nice pick, stay tuned.

Denver Broncos - This Bronco offense is looking very impressive. Yes, the Chargers D not at full strength but Cutler looks very comfortable and Denver looks in mid-season form on offense. Still some concerns on defense but we're liking what we've seen from Denver. The AFC West is no longer in the lap of the Chargers.

Pittsburgh Steelers - Tough to rate the Steelers in difficult conditions on Sunday Night.

Philadelphia Eagles -The Eagles offense certainly looked very impressive - their defense however gave up too many big plays to the powerful Cowboys offense but they will not play an offense this good the rest of the season.

So what about the teams that looked bad in week 1....anything better in week 2? And does our week 3 picks hold for these teams:
Oakland Raiders - The Raiders did play KC (see below) and they still have big question marks. The jury remains out on Oakland but our expectations for this team remain low.

Seattle Seahawks - They need WR's, badly. Very badly. This many injuries this early in the season is not a good situation for the Seahawks.

Cincinnati Bengals - They looked a little better on D against a tough Titans team but the Bengals offense has serious problems and will struggle all season from what we've seen so far.

Houston Texans - Their game PPD but we expect Houston to start looking better than they did in week 1.

Detroit Lions - They looked just as bad on defense, they can't stop the pass. They did show a bit on offense when Green Bay let down on defense but the Lions will be a tough team to pick with until we see something more from them in week 3.

St Louis Rams - A little better for a while and then it got away from them. Their schedule does get easier than it started which is good news for them because they have problems on both sides of the ball.

And of course it's all subject to change quickly in the NFL.

We also found a few new questions...
Indianapolis Colts - The Vikings certainly a tough team and the Chicago loss not looking as bad as the Bears looked good again today. The Colts did pull this game out as they found their offense late in this one - maybe the rust is completely off but they looked bad for a long time again this week.

Kansas City Chiefs - The 0-16 watch is on. They could very well be playing Miami in week 15 as a winless team. If they can't get it together in their home opener to play with the Raiders, they are still a very bad football team.

ChiefsATFalcons
Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons

KC goes with Tyler Thigpen who looked terrible in pre-season and just as bad last week.  Atlanta back home and should be able to move the ball on the still questionable KC defense.  Still, Atlanta isn't very good either and the Chiefs already said Huard will come in if (we say when) Thigpen falters and Huard actually gives KC a chance to win this game unless Thigpen has them too far behind.  KC is terrible but the number is just too high to play on another bad team.

Kansas City Chiefs +6

RaidersATBills
Oakland Raiders at Buffalo Bills

Simply no way we can trust the Raiders with injury concerns at RB and the Bills a very confident team playing well and now at home where they've been very good.

Buffalo Bills -9.5

BengalsATHome Team
Cincinnati Bengals at New York Giants

In the interest of full disclosure we originally had Cinncy picked thinking the number was simply too high not to play the dog.  But looking closer at the Bengals ineptness early this season, dating back to last season even we just didn't feel good with the Bunglas as our pick.
Doesn't matter much....smart money cashes in with the total in this game with our TOP PICKS!

New York Giants -13.5

DolphinsATPatriots
Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots

Pats got up and rallied last week to win, not a shock but now a week removed from devestating loss of Brady and with Miami coming in could certainly relax and be down a bit here.  Don't expect a Miami win but the Pats can't afford to not bring their A game every week this season and they might not here.

Miami Dolphins +12.5

TexansATTitans
Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans

Still believe Houston will show much better than opening game and now plenty rested.  Impressed with Tennessee as well playing very tough defense.  This game will stay close throughout, taking the points is the smart pick.

Houston Texans +5

BucsATBears
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Chicago Bears

CardinalsATHome Team
Arizona Cardinals at Washington Redskins

Nice comeback win by Washington last week, perhaps their offense starting clicking just in time.  But Arizona offense has certainly looked impressive and will score in this game.  This one looks like a shootout down to the wire.

Arizona Cardinals +3

Cardinals/Redskins OVER 42

PanthersATVikings
Carolina Panthers at Minnesota Vikings

If ever a team seemed to be just a QB away it's the Vikings.  However, the switch to Gus Frerotte not likely the answer.  But they could be better.  We had Carolina slated as a TOP PICK until the QB switch as it just adds another question and may lift the Vikings who are in full desperation mode.  Still, Steve Smith is back and Carolina has been very solid on the road.

Carolina Panthers +3.5

SaintsATBroncos
New Orleans Saints at Denver Broncos

Last team with the ball may win this one.  Expect the Saints offense to hold up, unlike last week when the heat finally got to them and cost them a game.  Both teams showing much more on offense than on defense, if you can't play D we can't lay more than a FG.

New Orleans Saints +5.5
Saints/Broncos OVER 51.5

RamsATSeahawks
St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks

Having watched the Seahawks the past few weeks must admit it is hard to pick this team.  However, even harder to pick the Rams - especially on the road and Seattle should bring some anger here and take it out on the lowly Rams.

Seattle Seahawks -9.5

JaguarsATColts
Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts

Jags always seem to play the Colts tough and we've been less than impressed with the Jags but  the Colts have looked very mortal.  We'll give the Jags one more chance - maybe it's one too many - best play here is to skip this game and play our TOP PICKS!

Jacksonville Jaguars +5.5

SteelersATEagles
Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia Eagles

Impressed with both teams and normally a top AFC team would be the pick over any NFC team but the Eagles really look good and may have too much at home as the Steelers may lack the running game against top caliber defenses.

Philadelphia Eagles -3

BrownsATRavens
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens

Quick to admit we're impressed with our friends at FantasyDraftEdge.com and their fantasy football cheat sheets that had many Browns players downgraded this season.  And although the Ravens D doesn't make much any easier we just aren't impressed at all with the Ravens offense.

Cleveland Browns +2

CowboysATPackers
Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers

Great game here - enjoy this one!  Concern here is the pressure on Rodgers of being ask to win a big game on a big stage.  Seems more than capable but coupled with a ground game seems to be searching for high gear still we'll have to favor the Cowboys even though they come off Monday night.

Dallas Cowboys -3

JetsATChargers
New York Jets at San Diego Chargers
