A lot of injuries in week 1 - always the case, but it seems a lot worse this year.
What sticks in my mind most about week 1, the Colts, Pats and Chargers are really good. I don't think that's a surprise but Indy and New England looked amazing! The Chiefs are terrible.

Atlanta at Jacksonville
Unimpressed with Jax last week in our only TOP PICK loss, but Atlanta looked down right bad. Still, simply not convinced the Jags with a young QB are as far a long as initially thought. I may be breaking my own rule of not judging too much on week 1, stick with pre-season analysis for at least 2 weeks. Guess I'm only applying that to the Falcons - they can't be that bad, can they? Don't see Jags as cover double digit type team....but, I'll admit - I typed Atlanta and just couldn't handle looking at remembering the way they played last week. Skip this game with your bets, but typing Jags felt better.

Buffalo at Pittsburgh
Steelers very impressive in week 1 but consider the opponent, meanwhile Buffalo lost a very tough game with a very solid team. I just do not believe that the Steelers are double digits better than the Bills who are an improved team. Over is 14-1-1 last sixteen home games for the Steelers.

Green Bay at N.Y. Giants
QB question mark, and RB question mark for the Giants but the Packers win last week was mis-leading and although they are better they still have problems. Giants at home still have the edge here.

Indianapolis at Tennessee
Not sold on Titans to be certain, but very impressed with Indy - plus extra rest. Titans have kept this game close in the past but I'm sure they do it today. But they 'under' here does look very attractive and is the smarter play in this game.

Some extra rest can't hurt the Saints and things should be easier than the very tough opener vs Indy. Buccs still have a lot of work to do, they may keep it close but in the end the Saints have too much on offense.

Not overly impressed with either team in their opener, again the total looks like the smarter play in this game. Until we see we more from either team we lean to taking the points but the best money plays under the total.

Dallas defense not great, but Dolphins offense doesn't seem ready to take advantage even back at home. But still not entirely sure what the Cowboys have under their new head coach.

Both teams have some injury concerns, Pennington once again hurting. Back up depth for Jets much less solid. Ravens D at home, just too good - especially potentially playing against a young QB, never thrilled to lay this many with Baltimore offense but Jets likely to really struggle to get points.

Raiders stumble out of the gate, but so do the Broncos. Expect both to be better in this game but the Broncos still have enough issues that we'll look to take the generous number in this one.
