Which teams are playing starters, which aren't? Which care about the 3 seed vs the 4 seed? Which coaches actually GIVE answers to those questions, and which one's are lying anyway?  Because of all this extra stuff to sort through - picks will be posted on FRIDAY this week.

IMPORTANT - ANY GAME INVOLVING A TEAM WITH NOTHING TO PLAY FOR (either for or against) IS ONLY A SLIGHT PREFERENCE.

Is this the beginning of the Sage era?  Probably not.  Dolphins D still solid, but Baltimore MUST win - then get a lot of help.  Hesitant to lay so many with Baltimore, but also not enough points to take the Dolphins in this one.  Ravens with much more to play for, their D and recently improving passing game will be enough to get this margin extended.

Steelers have nothing to play for, and some injuries to mend.  Bills have everything to play for, and might just be the hottest team in the league right now scoring points in bunches each game.

Stunningly BOTH teams alive for the playoffs!  Panhters turn around VERY impressive, but must note that now the pressure is on and the defense hasn't been very good lately.  Meanwhile the Saints have actually played a couple of good games.  This one stays closer than a TD.

Here's a surprise - Favre wants to play the entire game.  He won't.  The Packers are locked in as the #3 seed so he, along with many other starters will get a break for most of this game.  The concern here is that the Packers have some problems on defense that can't be ignored.  Questionable focus for the Packers, questionable talent for the Bears - but they'll be playing with everything they have (whatever that's worth).  Can't take a team with nothing to play for.

Houston's defense has too many holes, and the running game just isn't there lately.  Very little to like about the Browns, except maybe +10 (but just barely).

Patriots likely to rest players.  So are the 49ers better than the back ups on New England?  They may not be. But no way we can lay this many with a team who has no incentive to win this game.

We have absolutely no faith in John Kitna.  Tough to play a team when we know for a fact that starters will be very limited, but the difference in the Bengals led by Palmer and the Bengals led by Kitna IS this big.

Volek looking for one final audition filling in for McNair.  He's looked very solid when healthy.  Lions have too many injuries at key spots on offense.  Jeff Fisher's teams don't quit.

Vikings are IN with a win.  But on the road against a very solid defense a tough place to get it.  But the Redskins offense just not very good, and with Portis playing hurt at best not sure they can get points on the board - even against this defense.

Arizona getting ready for next year - and they've looked decent lately doing so as the QB situation has settled down.  Buccs motivation questionable - as is their QB.

Atlanta will not play starters very long, if at all.  Seattle really need Hasselback in their - and as of Friday evening it looks like he'll go in this one.  Seattle tough to trust since early in the year but with Atlanta essentially taking this game off we'll have to play the Seahawks still looking for some confidence and the division title.  Although must note a Jets loss earlier in the day weakens the Seahawks as the right play here.

Dungy won't talk about who and for how long he might rest.  But we just don't trust the Broncos to extend the margin against anyone right now despite the importance of this game for them.

Jags just not the same team without Leftwich and Taylor.  Taylor very unlikely to go - certainly won't be 100% nor will Byron.  Raiders showing some signs of life at times down the stretch.

Cowboys running better, Parcells will have this team playing hard.  Eli Manning getting better, but still a long way to go at this level.
