Palmer's status remains uncertain as of Thursday.  Although Eli Manning looked much better a week ago we still can't trust the Giants - especially on the road.  If Palmer can go the play is absolutely on the Bengals.  However, after watching Kitna last week - take the points if Palmer can't go.

Cincinnati Bengals -6 with Palmer
New York Giants +6 if Palmer out

Lions have shown some signs lately of the promise they showed very early in the year.  The talent is there - perhaps improving confidence from the inconsistent Harrington the key.  Just can't trust Chicago after the last few weeks.

Certainly we expect the Colts to be better this time out, and Manning very likely to set the record.  But the focus must remain on the game.  All of the sudden with NE stumbling in Miami, the #2 seed is still a possibility for BOTH teams.  This should be a great game with some points on the board.  And until we see better D from Indy against a quality offense, the points look good.

Haven't seen enough the Jags (although they just keep winning) to feel real comfortable laying this many.  But have seen enough (or not nearly enough) from the Texans to know I can't play them even getting a TD.

More than any game this week (plenty next week) we have to play psychologist in this one.  Vick will not play and many starters likely to play only sparingly.  So are the Saints good enough to beat the Falcons 2nd team.  Still alive for a playoff spot we would have to think yes.

Incentive to clinch home field is huge in this one, revenge for the only loss of the season a big motivator.  Ravens offense although better of late still not good enough against Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh.

So did the Pats take last Sunday night off in getting beat by lowly Miami or did they get exposed?  Probably the former.  The Jets are solid and will be at their absolute best.  However, no question the Patriots refocus for this one.  This should be a good old-fashioned war - low scoring makes 'under' the smart play in this game.

*Note - If the Steelers have already won (they play early) the Pats can no longer get Home Field throughout - BUT they could be caught by Indy/SD and lose that first round bye!

McGahee's health a key factor here.  Not in who to pick, but in how confident to be.  With McGahee we REALLY like the Bills to roll in this one.  Without McGahee we question them being able to control the ball enough to keep the margin extended.  Either way, Bills the play - but keep an eye out for McGahee's status before betting too big.

Stunningly, Seattle still live for the Playoffs - of course isn't everybody in the NFC?  We'll take the Seahawks as we aren't ready to trust the Cardinals on the road.  BEST PLAY OF THE DAY IS WITH THE OVER/UNDER IN THIS GAME!!! It's a TOP PICK!

Not ready to bet the house on Miami but the offense is opening up a bit.  It's still lousy, but they do have quality WRs.  Cleveland just plain terrible.  Look for Dolphins to be feeling good off a BIG win last week and with an impressive defense.  We try to avoid making bad teams TOP PICKS - so this isn't - but the Dolphins look very solid here to win big!
