If the Panthers can run the ball effectively - and with Davis they have shown they can they can keep control of this game and stay close. And their defense has more than enough to get pressure on Bulger and Bulger has not been at his best lately - he can be forced into some mistakes, and mistakes mean turnovers. Also must consider that the Rams could be looking ahead....a lot of national media is already talking about the Rams in the next round - the Rams (of course) insist they aren't looking past the Panthers but we've been surprised that teams actually come in flat in the playoffs in the past. We're not sure they can pull it off but we would not let a Panther upset surprise us! |

We've loved McNair and the Titans all
season, but we're afraid the injuries will finally catch up with this
team. It's going to be bitterly cold - not good for ailing bodies who
played a very physical game last week. A close look at the Patriots
schedule could expose them a bit as they beat few quality opponents.
However, this is the playoffs - they've been there before and they are
rested. We also give the Patriots the coaching edge. None of the advantages
are significant in this match up - but all the little ones give the
edge to New England and when you add them all up you must play New England.
The better play in this one might be the 'under' - factor the extreme
cold and ailing McNair with the fact that Patriots opponents scored
22 points during New England's last six home games - that's a total
number of points!! That's just 3.7 points per game. Three shutouts on
the season for the Patriots, all occurring in their last four home games.
The Patriots surrendered just one touchdown the last six home games,
occurring in garbage time over Jacksonville. |
