Although it's very tempting to take the points with Mr. Everything Mike Vick after he led his team to the 1st ever playoff win for any team in Lambeau. We feel that had a lot more to do with problems for GB and less with the Falcons. The Packers had numerous injuries on defense, Donald Driver was badly hurt - eventually out of the game, Glenn couldn't go and then Green got hurt. A blocked punt for a TD and a turnover on a punt contributed greatly to 14 easy points. The Eagles have one of the best defenses in the league and with McNabb back their strong offense is even stronger. A little rust could be expected from McNabb, pointing us to 'under' in ths one. But the Falcons will struggle to score and eventually the Eagles offense will pull away. The half point on the other side of 7 can be a bit tricky in this business but we aren't fooled by Atlanta (remember they finished the year 1-3) so we'll lay the number.

San Francisco 49ers at Tampa Bay Buccs (-6)(39.5)

Easy to believe the 49ers used everything they had left in the tank to comeback last week - a popular thought in fact. But we believe the opposite to be true. We believe the 49ers lacked confidence coming into that game and for 2 quarters did nothing to build that confidence. But then.........well, the rest is history. We look for the Niners to be revitalized and up to the challenge of the Buccs D. No question the Buccs D is awesome and will keep the 49ers in check most of the time. But the Niners have a big play wide receiver - and all it takes is one play. The return of Brad Johnson gives the Buccs offense some life - at times they actually looked average this season. But ultimately the Buccs offense doesn't have what it takes to pull away enough from the 49ers - and the 49ers have the offense to get some points - even against this defense. We'll stay away from the total in this one, as most of our projections had it in the 38-40 area. Buccs D always a good play 'under', but with the 49ers ability to score at any time with Garcia to Owens and the return of Brad Johnson giving the Buccs some hope on offense there are arguments for 'over' as well.
