Too many of the teams we thought were good have started playing bad and some teams we thought were bad are playing better. Should make for another interesting week, but in my mind the lines haven't adjusted to this enough for this week. My TOP PICK is my best of the year so far!! The Colts certainly out for revenge but have looked like two different teams this year. After a great start not impressive lately. The Patriots surprisingly solid with Brady at QB and should have renewed confidence after last weeks comeback win. The key is which Colts team will show up? With revenge on their minds look them to be at their best. But they still have no defense so points will be put up and when that's the case 10.5 is simply too many to lay. Don't look for another upset but take the points.

The Steelers defense is among the best in the league and against a Tampa Bay offense that isn't a huge threat they'll be right in this game. A big game for the Steelers, a win here moves them up a level in the eyes of the rest of the AFC. With 2 run first offenses and strong D's this game is a low scoring battle. Could be an upset but certainly can't turn down the points.

Mike Martz is quoted as saying "If it's up to me Marshall won't play Sunday" - my thought is how in the hell is it NOT up to the head coach?? Anyway, without Faulk (and as of Thursday evening we don't for sure if he'll play) this is a much easier pick. But even with Faulk the Jets at home will be a tough game for the Rams. The Rams just aren't the same team away from the dome, and they even struggled there last week. Like many teams this year they've shown two sides, making life tricky for handicappers, sportsbooks and bettors. The Jets with Curtis Martin can produce offense while keeping the Rams on the sidelines. A touchdown is too generous to turn down - bet it now as the line is likely to drop when the official announcement comes that Faulk is out.

The Lions are still a bad team, but getting better and in a good spot to get that first win. The Titans simply haven't shown enough to warrant laying this much on the road (or at home frankly) so the dog looks good in this point with an upset not entirely unlikely.

The Saints defense is tough, especially at home but with Chandler remaining healthy (assuming he can finish the game that way) the Falcons remain a threat to put up some points. Falcons weakness is on D so don't look for an upset but this number is too big to turn down.

Simple Raven offense won't miss Grbac if he sits, although he says he'll play. Browns defense is strong and this will be a field position battle. The Ravens simply don't have what it takes to pull away from teams, however the could slowly build a lead to over a TD but with an improving Browns team at home I like the points.

The Redskins are just that bad, only close game was last Monday night and they had to work hard to blow that game (although they still covered). Not too impressed with the Panthers certainly but can't support the Redskins after having to watch them last Monday night. So not a pick for Carolina but rather against Washington.

Jim Miller gaining confidence as it's now clear he is the Bears QB. Bengals tough at home but will struggle against solid Chicago defense. Bears playing to well to go against in what essentially a pick 'em game.

The Chiefs continued to be favored only to show they aren't a very good football team. Only winning at Washington (and who isn't beating Washington) and having a tough time scoring points. The Cardinals can certainly be a cure for a struggling team but they improving perhaps faster than KC.

After dissapointing road losses the Chargers will be hungry to get a big win back home to prove their start was for real. Injuries have caught up to Broncos as they are struggling. As of Thursday afternoon this game is just starting to go up for action at 2.5, and it looks more and more like Griese will play. But I have trouble believing he is 100% which will help hungry Chargers defense. Yet another tale of two teams with Denver, although the injuries help explain their turn around. If the line moves significantly or Griese's status changes I'll update.

The Vikings offense woke up and their defense still has holes, expect a shootout in this one with an easy winner on the total. But an even easier winner with the side right HERE! My pick might surprise you and will shock me if it doesn't win!!

Eagles not living up to expectations and can't go against New York at home on Monday night particularly with improving defense and Dayne stepping up.

The Jags started the season strong and then the injuries started, most notably to Taylor and they lost two games they probably should have won. This is a must win for Jax with two very tough games on the road upcoming. The Bills are going to have a long season and although it's tempting to the take points against a Taylor-less Jags team the Bills are yet show anything to warrant that.
