So many things we saw in weeks 1 and 2 got turned upside down last week. What happened to the Colts? The Baltimore D was back at top strength and the Rams offense returned to form. The Bronocs offense proved it could be stopped. Any one figured out who those people in the Patriots uniforms were?
But some things did not change from seasons start. The Packers are back in old Favre form and yes San Diego keeps winning and doing so impressively. The Cowboys and Redskins are that bad.

The Raiders are simply rolling over teams at home lately, last week no exception. But 18 points? Yes, Dallas is that bad, but can we really lay 18 points? If we say no the alternative is taking Dallas and that is not a good plan.

What's the deal with the Vikings? You can't ignore their dominance in the pre-season, yes it was the pre-season but they looked great every game when it was first team vs. first team. Now they look just plain bad. Last weeks win may have saved their season, they still have no defense but the offense should keep them in games when their head is screwed on straight. This should be a high scoring as the Minnesota D is notably bad and one of few weaknesses for the Saints is their corners. I think the Saints are the better team, but I like the points in this one. Frankly I'd just bet the total and forget about the winner. But since picking games is what I do, take the points.

Was that the new Patriots we saw a week ago? Not likely, this team still has no offense and the Dolphins D is far superior to that of Colts. But so many points is risky after last weekend. The Patriots may have only assured the Dolphins will be ready for them, take the better team.

San Diego is for real, they believe they can win and are playing hard on every down. They aren't going to the SuperBowl but may very well make the playoffs and will continue to beat other lower echelon teams. Certainly this is a better Browns team but Cleveland still lacks a decent ground game.

Look for the Titans to be much improved after a week off following a dismal start. I'm not sure they can knock off the Ravens in Baltimore but this game will be close so the points are to inviting to turn down.

The Eagles have a great defense and McNabb is finding some speed at WR. Points should come easy for Philly and look for Plummer to follow form and put some meaningless points up late. It's those late meaningless points that make me hesitate to lay such a big number but it is the Cardinals after all.

The Bears defense has been solid and the offense is promising. Falcons playoff hopes are severely dashed with the loss of Anderson but if they can step it up a notch in this one they can survive at least one game. Smith filled in nicely a week ago and with Chandler still healthy (perhaps the biggest upset of the season) the Falcons should play well at home.

Is the public ready to believe the Bengals are not a bad football team anymore? Doesn't look like it since that's the only thing to explain the line. The Steelers always tough at home but this game will be too close to turn down the points.

Jags and Seahawks with Brunell and Taylor would be a 2 TD Jax win easy. But with Taylor out the Jags aren't as good and we still don't know the status of either QB. I'll update as the line gets posted but right now I'm leaning toward taking the points and the Seahawks if we get enough points.

**Update** Late Saturday night, there are still too many question marks and the game remains off the board at several books. ScottsPicks.com has no pick on this game.

The Chiefs only wish they could play the Redskins every week, but then again who doesn't? The Broncos may have been exposed last week as they stepped up in class with their first tough game. The Chiefs are no Ravens on defense but with some renewed confidence on offense should stay close. Surprisingly the Chiefs have won 4 in a row vs. Denver, no upset but in a heated division game I like all those points.

Until the Bills show some sign of life on offense simply can't go with them, even getting points at home. The Jets have more experience and advantages at a lot of positions.

The 49ers have vastly improved their defense, but it couldn't have gotten much worse than a year ago. With the Panther D vulnerable as well we could see a bit of a shoot out here. The 49ers should find a way to win but with Weinke gaining confidence each week we could keep them close, take the points.
