Will the Vikings bring the defense they used
to shut down New Orleans a week ago? If so they will be tough
to handle, but it was the first time all year we saw such solid
D from the Vikings, and the Saints were a bit tired and banged
up. The Vikings achilles heel has always been grass fields,
which of course means outdoors. Add some chilly weather and
despite offensive superiority the Vikings may struggle. But
we can't be so quick to dismiss the Vikings attack, even on
a bad day one or two big plays can get the Vikings some points.
And lets not forget the Giants did not score an offensive TD
last weekend. The instinct here is to play the Vikings, they
certainly look better winning and would be more fun to watch
in the SuperBowl. But the Giants have been finding ways to win
all season and at home in the biggest game of the year they
will be tough. I'd love to see the line inch up another 1/2
point and get to 3, and if the trend on the line continues it
may do that. Quite frankly, at the skill positions everything
points to the Vikings, but a dome team playing outdoors in January
is a tough assignment, and history backs that up. Honestly,
I'm ready to flip a coin on this one and I'll tell you that
if this were a full weekend of games and I had less time to
review each game I would have gone with Minnesota. Maybe I'm
over thinking it and I can assure you that I'll save my money
for the late game anyway. I do like the under as the Giants
only chance is to keep it low scoring, and if I do put any money
down on this game it will be under 21 in the first half. Look
for emotions to be high and defenses to rule the early part
of the game. Bottom line is this, QB advantage Vikings, Receiver
advantage Vikings, RB advantage Vikings, and that's how you
score points. The Vikings simply have too many weapons to bet
against despite the intagibles.
