East Carolina at Virginia Tech

The emotion on campus for this game will be huge, add ESPN Gameday to the mix and an already very tough home team the Hokies will be very fired up for the opener. East Carolina is not a bad team, but they aren't on this level and caught in a bad spot. The only reason this isn't reserved for members only as a Power Play is the fact the Va Tech has LSU on deck so a look ahead factor is a concern.

Virginia Tech -25

Virginia at Wyoming

Virginia is just 2-9 ATS on the road since 2005, and there are few road trips tougher than this one from a travel standpoint - long bus ride and very high altitude. That altitude early in the season likely to be a problem for Virginia, but certainly not so for Wyoming. Wyoming looking for revenge as they missed an XP in OT last year at Virginia and youth in the Cavalier backfield we look for Wyoming to win this game straight up!

Wyoming +4

Nevada at Nebraska

Nevada will be a much better football at the end of the season than they are now, but they take a young QB into a tough place to play in this one. Nebraska remains a question mark and with tough games coming up they'll use this as a tune up and confidence builder, don't see the pedal coming off the gas.

Nebraska -21

Mississippi at Memphis

Ole Miss just 2-13 SU on the road since 2004, enough said. But we'll also say that we'll be high on Memphis most of the season, they should be significantly improved and provide good value for at least a few weeks.

Memphis +2.5

UCLA at Stanford

Palo Alto has not been kind to the Bruins, 0-4 ATS in their last 4. And looking even further, UCLA is 0-6 since 2003 when on the road in the Pac-10. Stanford improving and although outright upset not likely, UCLA will have to earn this one.

Stanford +17

Wake Forest at Boston College

Wake was a great story last season, but they remain fundamentally strong and will give BC all they want in this one.

Wake Forest +6

Oklahoma St at Georgia

OSU has one of the best offenses in the nation, but better have improved their defense or it could be a long year. WR Woods for OSU is out for this game, but that's only kept the line down and there is plenty of talent coming off the bench.

OSU/Georgia OVER 54

K-State at Auburn

The Wildcats defense should be much improved, and the Auburn offense was not very good last year and they lost a lot of players (maybe that's good). But there is no question about the dominance of the LSU defesne.

K-State/Auburn UNDER 46

UL-Lafayette at South Carolina

Any time you have a chance to play Steve Spurrier to run it up against a cupcake it's a solid play. The Gamecocks did it several times last season.

South Carolina -29
